Below are a few more before and after pictures of old Rusty. As you can see she is going to need a new name soon. Any ideas? Last night was a turning point in the clean up process. It was the first time that I could see it all working out, that I could imagine one day me printing on this press. It felt amazing! If you had been there you might have seen me do a little dance and shout, “I can’t believe this is mine!”.
In the past week I have been making some much needed progress on the great press cleanup of 2010. The adjustable bed has been taken out, the carriage is off (thank you crane!) and the rust removal has begun. Below are a couple of before and after shots. The last shot of the serial number is my favorite because it is so shiny!
